Valpolicella
Valpolicella is the Vallis Polis Cellae where a number of wineries made wine from indigenous grapes as early as in Roman times. It is the agricultural area north of Verona where famous wines such as Amarone della Valpolicella, Recioto della Valpolicella, Valpolicella Superiore and Ripasso are produced today. Although not far from the center of Verona, the Giovanni Ederle winery is located within the production area of Amarone della Valpolicella. Tours departing from the Verona Holiday Farm include visits to lots of unmissable wineries of Valpolicella.
Soave
The protagonists of this lovely ancient village are the famous Scaliger castle and the no less known Soave di Verona wine, named after the village. Soave offers unforgettable views and must-visit wineries full of history and traditions. The queen grape in Soave is Garganega, also used for the white wines of the Giovanni Ederle winery in San Mattia, Verona.
Custoza
Custoza is located on the extremities of the Garda morainic amphitheater. These gentle hills are known all over the world for the Custoza wine produced here and for the independence battles fought in these places and in memory of which a suggestive charnel house containing the skeletal remains of dead soldiers stands in the vicinity of the village.
Bardolino
Bardolino is one of the most popular and suggestive villages overlooking Lake Garda and one of the most renowned wine areas in the province of Verona. Bardolino is known for a wine festival that celebrates Bardolino Doc and Bardolino Chiaretto Sparkling Doc, with tastings of these wines produced with the same grapes as we use for our red wines at the Giovanni Ederle winery in Verona.
Lugana
The wine area of Lugana, among the most popular in Italy, is near Lake Garda, between the provinces of Verona and Brescia. Sirmione, which is home to the Lugana vineyards, is a unique village known for its healing thermal baths and Catullus’s ancient Roman villa.
